Josephine M. Trail, 91, of Charleston passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV after a short illness.

She was born on May 27, 1925 in Ikes Fork, WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jack Trail; parents, Jay Morgan and Amanda Lockhart Morgan Thornton; sister, Joy Morgan; brother, Jay C. Morgan; sister, Bernice M. Long; sister, Ernestine Thornton; niece, Crystal Justice Redding; her two best friends, Norma Conner and Agness Peyatte.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Kinder and husband, Ron of Pinch, WV; grandsons, Randy Kinder of Pinch and Andrew Kinder of Charleston; brother, Frank Morgan and wife, Kathy of Richmond Hill, Ga; sister-in-law, Helena Morgan of South Charleston, WV; brother, Raymond Thornton and wife, Candy of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Peggy Justice of Iager, WV; as well as many nieces and nephews.

When she was 17, she and her cousin, Thelma Olyer, went to Akron, Ohio and were Rosie Riveter's during World War II. She married Jack Trail on June 2, 1945 and they were married for 65 years. They moved to Charleston, WV in 1970. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 47 years. She was a member of the Partners Class and helped with several church boards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Josephine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Her family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the Oakridge Center and Hubbard House for the care they provided to Josephine.

Service will be 11:00 am Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Maryland Avenue, Charleston with Pastor Archie Snedegar officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church.
