Sylvia Bowen Smith

Sylvia Bowen Smith, 86, of Clendenin passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Charleston.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and loved spending her time with her friend, Phyllis on their many adventures. Sylvia is preceded in death by her first husband, Obe Bowen; second husband, Cue Smith; parents, Hubert and Bertha Richards; sister, Faye McGowan, brother, Denver Richards.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Angie) Bowen of Clendenin; Tracy (Lisa) Bowen of Melbourne, Fl.; daughter, Alice Bowen of Hurricane; grandchildren, Sarah Chandler, Kelly Chandler, Erin Chandler, Whitney Dickey; beloved nieces Lee Ann, Ponch, Erica; nephews, Mike and Butch.

Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at the Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church rebuild fund, 58 Mt. Pleasant Drive, Elkview, WV 25071.
