Dorothy "Dottie" Lavaughn Ross Lynch, 78 of Charleston WV, born January 21, 1938, in Coco, WV the daughter of the late Jerry O' Ross and Nora Olive Cross Ross, passed away Wednesday, December 7th at CAMC Memorial hospital after a sudden illness.
Dottie was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall of Kanawha City. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Sunday dinners at her house were a family tradition and enjoyed by anyone, friend or family, that walked through her door. Telling stories of her of her childhood days growing up in Coco with her 15 brothers and sisters was a favorite pastime enjoyed by all of her grandchildren. Her laughter could light up any room and her husband kept her laughing through it all during their 59 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Dana Ross, Jerry Hollis Ross, Billy Ross, and Clarence Ross; her sister Frances Leftwich, and a special niece Kendra Saunders.
Left to mourn Dottie's passing are her loving husband Carroll J. Lynch, her son Jerry C. Lynch, her daughter Cheryl A. Lynch Smith, and the grandson she raised Jerry C. Lynch II (April). Grandsons Allen R. Lynch (Angie), Wesley W. Lynch (Melinda), and Logan A. Smith; granddaughters Amber N. Smith March (Andy), and Sarah A. Smith. And 11 beautiful great grandchildren that she adored.
Dottie is also survived by her brothers Gwynn Ross, Richard "Dickie" Ross (Barbara), Larry Ross, Raymond Ross, David Ross; sisters Barbara Pritt, Kay Truman, Becky Crockett (Joe), Debbie Saunders (Pete), sister in law Wanda Ross, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is deeply loved by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her and will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held 7:30 pm Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at Hafer's Funeral Home in Elkview with Thomas E. Toliver, Jr. officiating.
The visitation will be from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the funeral home on Sunday.
