Obituary for Stanton "Sug" Waitman Gibson

Stanton "Sug" Waitman Gibson, 82 years old, passed away on April 20, 2016, at Charleston Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.

Sug was born October 11, 1933, in Bomont, WV. He liked to hunt, raise rabbits, but most of all he loved to play around in the floor and go for drives with Bubby "Clayton" and "Ericy". Sug was a jokester to all who knew him. Even though he had no children, he and Gaythel helped raised nieces and nephews. He worked as a High lift Driver for Wright Lumber Company.

He is preceded in death by his father Stanton Gibson, and his mother Nancy Gibson, brothers- Basil, William "Rabi", Wintz "Peeky" Gibson, sister- Cora Stevens.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Gaythel Gibson.
Brothers- Ervin "Sunny" of Florida, Floyd (Delory) of Campbell's Creek, Vance (Linda) of Quick, Roy (Diane) of Jackson County, and Junior of Huntsville.
Sisters- Kathy "Florey" Brown of Campbell's Creek, Roseann (Chris) Washington.

Services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 1:00PM, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Burdette officiating. Burial will be at Gibson Cemetery, Clay County.

Visitation will be Saturday April 23, 2016, from 6:00-8:00PM at Hafer Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank In Home HealthCare, Gentiva, Special Touch, Nurse Joe, two very caring nurses at CAMC Mem., and all of the therapists who they've known over the past 5 years for their care.
