Sherley H. “Bud” Young
Sherley H. “Bud” Young of Big Chimney died at home the morning of June 18, 2014.
He was a 35 year employee of E. I. Dupont at Belle. He served in the USAF during the Korean ERA War and was of the Protestant faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jobe H. Young and Jessie D. Young; brother David K. Young and sister Edith Petrella.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Herald Young. They would have celebrated their 59th Anniversary in August

Daughter - Shirlene Young Chapman and son-in-law Todd Chapman
Sisters – Sharon Bowyer, of St. Albans, Radie Fitzwater of Indore, WV; Barbara Workman, Canvas, WV; Wilda Bensonhaver of Deland, FL; Nancy Lowen of CA; and Naomi Wood of Texas
Grandsons Steven II and Benjamin & Nathanial Young, whom he adored.
Service will be 1:00 PM on June 22, 2014 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Forwood officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum in Big Chimney.
Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Richards and Dr. Dilip Basu for the good care they gave Mr. Young through the years.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to have donations made to American Heart Association.
