Obituary for Joseph "Joe" R. Edens

Joseph R. Edens
Joseph R. Edens 73, of Elkview passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston after a long illness.
Joe was a retired Lieutenant with Charleston Fire Department after 26 years of service. He also was in the Air National Guard and was a very talented musician and was a member of the Mark IV band for over 20 years. He was a 1959 graduate of Elkview High School.
He was born January 12, 1941 to the late Jake Edens and Zettie Davis Edens. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Archie, Regional and Larry; sister Betty Moles.
He is survived by brothers Glen and Tommy; sisters Shirley Vasiliou and Kathy Withrow; caregivers Mike and Jane Koenig and Mary Ullman.
Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Seafler-Hall Cemetery in Big Chimney, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
