Alvin Cecil O’Dell
Alvin Cecil (Duno) O’Dell 87, of Quick, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House, after a long battle with Parkinsons.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Company. He was founder and Pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ, Charleston, WV where he served for 38 years until failing health. He loved to sing and play his guitar and will be remembered as a humble man of courage and faith, loving God, family, country and the Flag.
He was born April 28, 1926 to the late Enos and Bessie O’Dell. He was also preceded in death by sisters Ruth Ellen O’Dell and Velma Walker; brothers Delmar O’Dell and Dewey O’Dell.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 67 years, Roberta Smith O’Dell.

9 Grandchildren 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews, church family and children to whom he was simply ”Papaw”.

Service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the O’Dell Cemetery, Dutch Ridge, WV with Military Graveside Rites.
Visitation will be 1 hours prior to funeral at the funeral home.
