Condolence From: Pam
Condolence: Victory is not found in the ease of our circumstances nor in the strength of our own resources, but in the presence of the Lord who is with us. -Roy Lessin When I found this poem, I felt that it reflected the victory that Uncle Ed has achieved because of his walk with the Lord. Just want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you right now! Love, Jay, Pam, Zach & Sami

Condolence: Ruth and I have not seen you and Ed in a while. We were very surprised to hear of his passing. Ed and I used to work together as drivers for Kanawha Steel. He was one of the best guys I had ever known. I have not been in the best health and have not been able to keep in touch. We will be praying for the family. God bless and comfort you all. Buck Boggs

Condolence: Lu and family, I just wanted to offer you my condolences on Ed's passing. I know I have not seen any of you all for a while, but I still think about you and wish you well. Not to mention I miss you very much! I'm very sorry to hear about Ed - he was a great guy and all the people he has known will never forget him and his always jolly attitude. I wish I could have made it back to Charleston for the services, but I had school. I'll never forget him - he was almost a grandfather to me. Just remember that even though I may not see you very often you're still in my thoughts, just as Ed will be in everyone's. Love, Victoria.

Condolence: Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Ed was a happy go lucky guy and never had a bad thing to say about anybody. I have many memories of him and will never forget the inspirational words of wisdom he always share with us. It's not often we can say that people make a difference in our life, but Ed definitely left that indelible mark in mine.

Condolence From: Roger Fouty
Condolence: I just wanted to let all of Ed's family know that my wife, Ruth, and I were sorry to hear of Ed's passing. Although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you personally, I'm sure that you know me through some of Ed's boyhood stories. Many years ago, he, Bill Allen and I formed the nucleus of his first quartet. We first started singing together while camping out and eventually moved our activities to the choir and quartet at Mt. Tabor. Perhaps our favorite song was "Life's Evening Sun." Ed and I also played baseball together for several years as members of "The Pinch Travelers." We were coached by his dad, "Pick" and, occasionaly, by my dad. Basil. I last saw Ed at the funeral of my mother-in-law 3 years ago at Hafer's, and talked with him by phone a few weeks ago when I learned he was ill. Even though we have lived far apart since 1959, he will always be remembered as one of my closest friends. He was a very kind and unselfish man. You are fortunate to have had him as a husband and father. As I remember the song that we sang numerous times: "Life's evening sun, Is sinking low, A few more days, And I must go. To meet the deeds, That I have done. Where there will be, No setting sun." I know that Ed has made that jouney. I wish all of his family well. Sincerely, Roger Fouty
